Look Eleven's Aftercare Dos & Dont's

Your hair extension technician will go through the correct aftercare at your fitting but here are some DOs and DONT's to get you started...

Dos:

    • Gentle Brushing: Use a soft-bristled brush designed for extensions and brush carefully, especially near the roots where they're attached. Start at the ends and work your way up to avoid tangles. Aim for two gentle brushing sessions a day.
    • Sulphate-Free Saviour: Wash your hair extensions 2-3 times a week with lukewarm water and sulphate-free shampoo and conditioner. Sulphates can strip away natural oils and colour, leaving your extensions dry and brittle. Opt for gentle, moisturising products specifically formulated for extensions.
    • Heat Protector Power: Always use a heat protector spray before using hot tools like straighteners, curling irons, or hair dryers. While Russian Remy hair is top quality, heat exposure can still damage extensions over time.
    • Maintain the Magic: Regular maintenance appointments with your technician are essential for healthy, long-lasting extensions. They'll check for loose attachments, adjust tension as your hair grows naturally, and keep everything looking its best.

Dont;s:

    • Sleeping Beauty with Dry Hair Only: Never go to bed with wet extensions. This can cause matting, tangles, and even mildew growth. Ensure your extensions are completely dry before catching those Zzzs.
    • Less is More with Products: While conditioning is important, avoid using excessive amounts of styling products like serums, oils, or leave-in conditioners near the roots. Build-up around the bonds can lead to slippage and potential matting. Focus on applying products to the mid-lengths and ends of your hair.

Bonus Tip: For Russian Remy hair extensions, consider using a leave-in conditioner specifically formulated for dry hair. This will help keep your extensions hydrated and prevent frizz.
