To ensure a comfortable night's sleep while protecting your hair extensions, there are a few steps you can take. We spend at least a third of our day in bed, which means that’s a lot of time spent in bed! As we can move around a lot in sleep, and lying down can sometimes put pressure on our hair, knowing how to protect your hair whilst you sleep can help not only extend the life of your extensions but also help your overall hair health.

Here are some tips for sleeping with hair extensions:
1. Avoid Sleeping with Wet Hair
Sleeping with wet hair can lead to tangling, so make sure your hair is thoroughly dry before going to bed. Pay special attention to drying the area where the extensions are attached, and avoid air drying to ensure your extensions stay in good condition
2. Braid Your Hair Extensions
Braiding your hair is an effective way to prevent your extensions from tangling while you sleep. Be gentle when braiding, and use a soft hair tie to secure it in place. This method can also give you heatless waves, as releasing the braid in the morning will leave you with soft, wavy hair.
3. Tie Your Hair Up
If braiding isn’t your preference, you can tie your hair up in a loose bun or ponytail. We recommend opting for low hairstyles when you have extensions to avoid putting unnecessary strain on them. Avoid high ponytails or buns.

4. Brush Your Hair
Regular brushing is essential for maintaining hair extensions, as it helps redistribute natural oils and prevents matting. Gently brush your hair before bed to remove any tangles that may have formed during the day. We recommend using a boar bristle brush, which gently detangles while evenly distributing natural oils throughout your hair.
By following these tips, you’ll help keep your hair extensions looking great and healthy for their recommended wear time!
